James L. Parker, 74, of Jamestown, died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday (December 24, 2009) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
A lifelong area resident he was born November 8, 1935 in Jamestown the son of David Homer and Evelyn Till Parker.
He attended Jamestown High School and was employed by Valeo for 33 years as a tool and die maker retiring in 2001.
Surviving are his wife Betty L. Housler Parker whom he married June 30, 1956 in the First Church of God, a daughter Christine Elaine Hill (Robert Kreider) of Erie, two grandchildren Michael and Matthew Hill both of Erie, two great grandchildren, Logan Matthew Hill and Dylan Michael Hill both of Erie and a brother Dennis LeRoy Parker of Jamestown.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will not be observed.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, American Cancer Society or to Heritage Group.
