Duane H. "Dewey" Danielson, 80, of 3858 Bellview Rd., Bemus Point, passed away Monday (February 8, 2010) at his home.
He was born January 21, 1930, in Bemus Point, the son of the late Arthur and Esther Gustafson Danielson.
He attended Bemus Point High School and prior to retirement was employed for the Town of Ellery Highway Dept. for 32 years retiring in 1985.
Dewey enjoyed working outdoors building ponds, welding and helping his neighbors.
Surviving are his son Wesley Danielson of Bemus Point and a grandson Christopher Danielson of Bemus Point, his caregiver Jessica Bailey of Bemus Point who he deeply appreciated, a daughter in law Dena Danielson of Brocton, a brother Clayton Danielson of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda M. Hallberg Danielson whom he married February 26, 1971 in the Town of Poland, who died July 17, 2005 two brothers Siebert and Richard Danielson, and a sister Ruby Johnson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Kibbe of Bemus Point United Methodist Church will officiate. Private burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
