Michael A. Trujillo, 34, of 9 MacGeorge St., Binghamton, NY, formerly of Lakewood, NY, passed away Wednesday (February 24, 2010) in Binghamton General Hospital due to complications resulted from his battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born March 25, 1975 in Jamestown, the son of and Patricia Briggs Schlauder and Joseph Trujillo.
Michael attended Southwestern High School. He lived in Ogden, Utah where he started his own painting business, prior to moving to Binghamton. Michael enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his beloved dog, Mocha. He loved traveling and spending time with his family. He spent endless hours remodeling his home and working in his garden, trying to grow the ultimate pumpkin and towering sunflowers. Michael will be remembered for his free spirit and generous heart. He always had a kind word and gentle way with all that knew him.
Surviving are his mother and step father Patricia and Richard Schlauder of Binghamton, NY, his father and step-mother Joseph and Lana Trujillo of Ogden, Utah, a sister Cathy Vanderbloemen and fiancé Gary Socha of Dallas, Texas, his maternal grandmother Thelma Briggs of Jamestown, NY, his paternal grandmother Virginia Trujillo, step-sisters Karen Slick, Beth Davis, Pam Milton, Kim Hibbard, Christine Winchell and step-brother Ricky Schlauder, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Lauros A. Briggs in 1983, and paternal grandfather Henry Trujillo in 1995.
The funeral will be at 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 2 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Soderberg will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 11:00 to 1:00 on Tuesday, March 2 in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity on one's choice.
