Francis J. Conti, 88, of 12 Williams St., Falconer passed away at 1:03 p.m. Monday (March 1, 2010 WCA Hospital.
Born April 13, 1921 in Jamestown the son of Nunzio and Nettie Ross Conti.
He graduated from Jamestown High School. He retired from Red Star Express and Railway Express in 1979, after 43 years.
Francis was the last surviving charter member of the East Side Fellowship Club, having been a member for 64 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and an experienced carpenter.
Surviving are his wife Doris L. Crist Connell Conti whom he married November 20, 1993 in Jamestown, two daughters Cynthia Metzler of Littleton, Colorado, Donna Conti of Denver, Colorado, step children, Cathy (Paul) Whitford of Jamestown; Richard "Moose" (Marianne) Connell, Bob Connell and Tom Connell all of Falconer, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, a sister Veronica Conti of Falconer and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Nunzio and Nettie Ross Conti, brother Carl, sister Theresa Conti DeFabio and his first wife Ruby Beck Conti.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Janaczek will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to the East Side Fellowship Club, 322 Woodlawn Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701.
