Laura M. Rossi, 90, formerly 218 West Ave., Falconer passed away at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday (March 2, 2010) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center
An area resident most of her life, she was born December 8, 1919 in North East, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Fred V. and Laura Triana Piazza.
Laura attended Falconer High School and earlier had been employed at Inter Royal Corp. and Jamestown Laminating Co. in the cost department retiring in 1976.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer, a member of the Falconer Senior Citizen's where she had been a member of its bowling league, and a charter member of the Gerald S. Gaeta Club.
Surviving are two sons Clement (Vivian) Rossi of Russell, PA and Frederick (Mary Lee) Rossi of Adrian, Michigan; five grandchildren, Rochelle Mole` of Jamestown, Steven Rossi of Newport News, Virginia, Shari Cryder of Adrian, Michigan and Christopher and Ann Rossi, both of Lansing, Michigan, two step grandsons, David Carlson of Woodruff, S.C. and Kurt Carlson of Jamestown ; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Clara Moritz of Buffalo.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Rossi, whom she married September 30, 1943 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Meadville, PA, who died April 8, 2008, two sisters, Beatrice Piazza in 2008 and Rosalie A. Letich in 1997.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer. Rev. Joseph Janaczek pastor of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
