Winifred S. Crandall, 86, of 151 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer passed away Monday (March 8, 2010) in her home.
She was born November 13, 1923 in Salamanca, NY the daughter of the late Samuel and Edna Staines Smout.
Winifred was a graduate of Gowanda High School and prior to retirement was employed by Crescent Tool.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, reading, taking care of others, and spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Surviving are two sons Gregory L. Crandall of Marysville, Michigan, Stanley E. Crandall of Falconer; three grandsons, Matthew D. Crandall of Falconer, Eric O. Crandall of Buffalo, Joseph W. Crandall of Falconer; two step grandchildren, Melissa Khabbaz of Ft Grachet, Michigan, Marcy Conley of Imlay, Michigan; four great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren; a brother Charles Smout of Lakeland, Florida and a sister Gertrude Kuhns of Gowanda.
She was preceded in death by her husband DeForest C. "Frosty" Crandall whom she married May 30, 1947 in Angelica, NY, who died March 1, 2005; a brother Ethan Smout and two sisters Elizabeth Douglas and Gladyes Myers.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
