Albert J. Eddy, 86, of13th St., Jamestown passed away Friday (July 2, 2010) in his home.
A lifelong area resident he was born June 17, 1924 in the Town of North Harmony, the son of the late Raymond and Jessie Card Eddy.
In earlier years Albert was employed by International Paper Mill and prior to retirement he was also employed by Essex Chemical. He had also along with his wife Cloie had owned and operated a dairy farm for 19 years.
Albert was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Open Meadows United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and vacations in Florida.
Surviving are his wife Cloie A. Blakeslee Eddy whom he married May 19, 1944 in Ashville, three sons; Albert LaVern Eddy of Jamestown, Clayton Floyd Eddy of Colorado, Herbert Paul Eddy of Dunkirk, and four grandchildren; Laurie Eddy of Oregon, Lonnie J. Eddy of Colorado, and Paula Clinton of Warren, Tammy Delahoy and seven great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; Harold, Kenneth, Gordon and Raymond Eddy and two sisters Hazel Ieiden and Louise Ecker
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. John Bower will officiate. Burial will be in Open Meadows Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
