Dorothy E. Carlson Barton Pearson, 100, formerly of Franklin, PA and Berquist Manor of Heritage Retirement Home passed away Sunday (July 11, 2010) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
She was born May 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Edwin A. and Elizabeth Johnson Carlson.
Dorothy was a graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years was employed by Hopes Windows.
She was a member of the Immanuel Wesleyan Methodist Church and former member of the Free Methodist Church of Franklin, PA.
Surviving are two step sons: Paul Pearson of W.E. Jamestown and Wesley Pearson of California, 6 Step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, her adoptive daughter Lois Carlson of Frewsburg, several nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Pauline Carlson of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her first husband William H. Barton whom she married September 2, 1944 who died March 23, 1977, her second husband Edwin V. Pearson whom she married January 14, 1989, who died February 28, 1998, two brothers Robert J. Carlson, James E. Carlson and a sister Alyce Sears.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Shreffler chaplain of Heritage Group will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Township of Oakland, PA.
Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday in the funeral home.
