Josephine Buccola, 87, of West Ave., Falconer passed away Wednesday (December 28, 2011) in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident she was born June 5, 1924 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Rosarrio and Signorina Calanni Destro.
Josephine was a graduate of Jamestown High School and prior to retirement was employed at Jamestown Public Schools where she worked in food service.
Her whole life revolved around her children & grandchildren, and she especially loved her great grandson Brody who was just born on June 4, 2011 the day before her birthday.
She is survived by her two sons: Joseph ( Stephanie) Buccola of Falconer; Lory (Amy) Buccola of Frewsburg: a daughter Sarah Ann Buccola of Falconer; 5 grandchildren: Joey Buccola of Falconer, Michelle Buccola of Jamestown, Ashley Buccola of Frewsburg, Jason Buccola, and Chad Buccola both of Frewsburg; a great grandson Brody Christopher of Falconer.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Carl, Anthony, Sebastian, and Samuel Destro; and her sister Rose Destro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer. Rev. Joseph Janaczek will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be donated to Falconer Fire Department or Hospice of Chautauqua County.
