Keven Lee Hulings, 56, of 304 E. Elmwood Ave., Lot 32, Falconer passed away Wednesday (December 28, 2011) in his home after a courageous battle with ALS.
A lifelong area resident he was born October 6, 1955 in Jamestown, the son of John A. and Katherine Kashmer Hulings.
Keven was a 1973 graduate of Falconer High School and was one of the first of four employees hired by Cummins Engine for the Jamestown, NY engine plant.
Keven was founder of the HUGO Foundation and co founder of Friends Of HUGO Foundation. He was a member of the Henry Mosher Post 638, Sons of American Legion, serving as Life Time Commander for the Sons and also served as Chaplain. Prior to being diagnosed with ALS in 1991 Keven enjoyed playing baseball and softball for various leagues.
Keven was a passionate man towards the things he liked and cared for. He was a loyal NY Yankee, Miami Dolphin and Duke Blue Devil fan.
Surviving are his mother Katherine Hulings of Falconer, two brothers: Stephen A. Hulings of England and John C. Hulings of High Point, NC, a sister Yvonne Pickering of Jamestown; four nephews: Chris and Michael Pickering, Adam and Brandon Hulings, a niece Sarah Hulings; three great nieces: Abbigael and Zipporah Pickering, and Layla Sullivan and two great nephew Moses Pickering and Logan Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his father John A. Hulings on March 3, 1997.
The family would like to thank all the family and friends that volunteered their time and resources to make the Hugo fund and Friends of Hugo a success. A special thanks to Jennifer Davidson for providing her loving care for over fourteen years.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
