Mary E. Counter
Mary E. Counter, 65, of Ellington passed away Tuesday (January 3, 2012) in WCA Hospital.
She was born November 3, 1946 in Woodlawn, NY, the daughter of Noble and Mildred DeNee Wheaton.
In earlier years Mary was employed by the Adult Learning Center in Indiana, PA and had taught GED classes in Indiana, PA and Butler, PA. Prior to retirement she was employed by PM Counter Trucking & Lumber.
Mary was a member of the Chautauqua County Society of Artist for 11 years and was an accomplished seamstress & sewer, crafter and sculpture. She was also a member of the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Citizen Academy, NYS Sheriff Association and Deserving Children to NYS Sheriffs Association.
Surviving are her son John Kelly of Ellington, Roxanna Conley of South Dayton, six grandchildren: Zachary, Tonya' and Brandi Conley, Stephanie, Heather, and Dillon Kelly; three brothers: Charles Wheaton of Ellicottville, NY, Calvin Wheaton of Bemus Point ,NY, Robert Wheaton of Boston, NY and two sisters: Janette Allan of Gowanda and Marcella Capron of Little Valley.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Gerg and Margaret Eicher and a brother John (Jack) Wheaton.
At Mary's request no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or memorials Mary has requested you choose a day in your life and do something nice for someone else in honor of her memory.
