Joyce E. Ramsey, 83, of Jamestown passed away Saturday (January 14, 2012) in WCA Hospital surrounded by her family.
A lifelong area resident she was born January 28, 1928 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Mitchell LeRoy.
Joyce was a graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years had been employed by Embers Restaurant, House of Petillo and Proto Tool. Prior to retirement she was employed by RSVP of Lutheran Social Services retiring in 2007.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her family and friends and enjoyed cooking and baking for them.
Surviving are her children: Mark (Sherry) Ramsey of Lakewood, Shelley Ramsey of Jamestown; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Wilstie, Shawn (Nancy) Ramsey, Chad (Kellie) Ramsey, Mark Ramsey Jr., Heather Ramsey, Megan (Jason) Burch; 12 great grandchildren: Porter and Harland Wiltsie, Cayley and Cameron Ramsey, Anslee Brooke, Alexis, Allison, Chad Jr., Tanner, Collin, Brendon and Sawyer Ramsey and her dear friend Rodney Brown of Randolph.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Roberta Ross.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt Chaplain of Lutheran Home will officiate. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
