Gertrude C. "Trudy" Kraft, 83, formerly of Brookside Estates passed away Sunday (January 22, 2012) in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
A lifelong area resident she was born December 10, 1928 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Ecklund Mohney.
Trudy was a graduate of Bemus Point High School and prior to retirement was employed by Bemus Point School District.
She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Trudy was also a member of the Thule Lodge having served as past chair, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and Bemus Point VFW Post 557 Auxiliary.
Trudy especially enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, camping, cooking, Christmas Swedish traditions and was an avid sports fan.
She is survived by a son, Richard C. Kraft of Bemus Point, a daughter, Linda C. Miller (Robert Brown) of Clearfield, PA, six grandchildren: Lori Jo (Curt) Fischer of Bemus Point, Lisa Rodgers of Phoenix, AZ, Donald C. (Angela) Miller of Atlanta, GA, Darryl Miller of Clearfield, PA, Erik (Melanie) Kraft of Bemus Point, Richard (Ingrid) Kraft of Mentor, OH; ten great grandchildren: Justin (Molly) Vine, Brian Rodgers, Kelsey Rodgers, Zachary Fischer, Megan Fischer, Donald Miller III, Mason Kraft, Mattias Kraft, Jaxon Kraft, Gwyneth Kraft and a great great grandson Jude Olaf Vine.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard O. Kraft whom she married June 7, 1947 in the First Lutheran Church, Jamestown, who died September 28, 2007, and a brother Charles Mohney.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday in the funeral home.
