Ronald L. Martin
Ronald L. Martin, 74, of 252 Ivy St., Jamestown, passed away Wednesday (January 25, 2011) in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong resident, he was born on April 16, 1937, in Youngsville, PA, the son of the late Carl and Blanche Wingard Martin.
Ronald was a retired machinist and had been employed for MRC/SKF for 43 years and a member of the UAW Local 338.
In earlier years, he coached Little League Baseball, and was on the Board of Director for the Babe Ruth Series team in the mid 1980's.
Surviving are his wife Barbara J. Price Martin whom he married on July 5, 1958, in St. Luke's Church in Jamestown; a son Dan (Sandy) Martin of Jamestown; a daughter Rhonda (Jeff) Walden of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Jessica (Scott) Nuccio, Lindsay Walden, Erik Walden, McKenzie Martin, Alec Walden; two great grandchildren: Isabella and Addison Nuccio; two sisters: Anne Lamer and Shirley Camarata both of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Carl Martin, three sisters: Rachael Sweigart, Martha Martin and Dorothy Gross.
The funeral will be at 3p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev Dayle Keefer of Fluvanna Community Church will officiate.
Friends will be received by the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Falconer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 331 Alberta # 106, Buffalo, NY 14226-1813.
