Nora Mae Schwab

Nora Mae Zimmerman Schwab, 90, of China Grove, NC, formerly of Falconer, NY, Bradenton, FL and 165 Aldren Ave., Jamestown passed away Friday (November 17, 2017) in Glenn Kiser Hospice Home, Salisbury, NC.

She was born January 26, 1927 in Gibsonia, PA, the daughter of the late Harvey DelRoy Staley and Nora Levina Perry Staley.

Mae was a graduate of Mars High School in Pennsylvania and was employed by Maple Grove High School and Chautauqua Co. Dept. of Social Services

She was a member of the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, the church choir and the Good Shephard Church of The Brethren, Bradenton, FL. Mae will be remembered for her strong Christian faith.

Mae enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing cards, gardening and traveling.

Surviving are four children: Linda (David) Millward of China Grove, NC, Janet (Richard) Nordlund of Mt. Rushmore, SD, Jacqueline (Phil) Hemric of Greenville, SC, William Zimmerman of Bradenton, FL; a step daughter Linda (Lorry) Johnson of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Kevin (Kristin) Millward, Kelly (David) Bigelow, Kristen (Bernard) Waugh, Michael (Alexa) Nordlund, Stephen Nordlund, Rik Nordlund, Jarrett (Eva) McCarthy; two step grandchildren: Kristin (Chad) Goldberg, Carin (Jonathan) Silsby; sixteen great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; a sister Marjorie Rinaman of Mars, PA

She was preceded in death by her first husband William Zimmerman whom she married October 2, 1946, who died December 1982; her second husband Robert Earl Schwab whom she married December 28, 1985, who died April 24, 2012; three brothers: James, Paul and George Staley; three sisters: Edna Boyle, Ruth Fugh and Mary Staley.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 385 S. Main St., Jamestown, NY. Rev. Carolyn Stow pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, NY.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church.
