John W. Frazier, IV, 78, of Falconer passed away Sunday (December 24, 2017) in the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center after an eight year battle with cancer.
A lifelong area resident he was born January 19, 1939 in Jamestown, the son of the late John W. Frazier III and Doris VanRensselaer Frazier.
He was a graduate of Bemus Point High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1959 to 1963. Prior to retirement he was employed by Blackstone Corp for 37 years.
John attended the former Elmwood United Methodist Church, Levant Wesleyan Church, and was a member of the Falconer Rod & Gun Club, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Old West Shooters Club. He volunteered for Helping Hands and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife Daryl Marie Larson Frazier whom he married August 20, 1966 in Jamestown; a son Dr. John (Melissa) Frazier V of Clemson, SC, a daughter Dr. Michele (Dan) Schuppenhauer of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Anna Schuppenhauer, Marisa Schuppenhauer, Jenna Frazier, Evelyn Frazier; a brother Robert (Dianne) Frazier of Lockport; a sister Sharon (Mike) Caruso of Greenhurst.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Florence Everhart Frazier.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date in the Spring of 2018. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
