Russell M. Conti

Russell M. Conti, 84, of Falconer passed away Tuesday (March 6, 2018) in the Lutheran Home.

A lifelong area resident he was born August 9, 1933 in Falconer, the son of the late Russell and Josephine Cardinale Conti.

Russell was a graduate of Falconer High School and attended Jamestown Community College.

In earlier years he was employed by Sears, J.R. Jentry, owned and operated Russells Men's Ware and Champion Outlet. Prior to retirement he was employed by TOPS Markets.

He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, IAB Club having served as secretary of Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marco Polo Club having served as trustee, Jamestown Moose Club and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

Russell enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing and cooking.

Surviving are his daughter Josephine "Josie" (Mark) Weed of Falconer, a son Russell A. (Cheri) Conti of Falconer; four grandchildren: Christina Weed, Russell J. (Katie) Conti, Robert M. (Mindy) Conti, John R. Weed; nine great grandchildren: Justin Ellsworth, Joshua Weed, Mina Weed, Ethan Conti, Kendall Conti, Charlee Conti, Natalie Conti Nolan Conti, Corbin Conti; his sister Agnes Tilaro of Falconer and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine A. Tuccio Conti, whom he married Sept. 27, 1952, who died Sept. 16, 2012; a granddaughter: Nicole Lynn Weed; two brothers: John Conti and Sam Conti.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Jananczek pastor of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
