Jesse C. McDonald, 90, of Falconer, formerly of Ashville passed away Saturday (March 10, 2018) in UPMC Chautauqua/ WCA Hospital.
He was born August 17, 1927 in the town of Ellicott, the son of the late Leo Benedict and Marjorie Hill McDonald.
Jesse was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy serving during WWII and the Korean War.
In earlier years he had owned and operated a dairy farm in Ashville. Prior to retirement he was employed by Dowcraft for 30 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, and former member of Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his brother Craig McDonald of Ashville and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Quentin McDonald, Joseph McDonald; four sisters: Leah McDonald, Anne Proudman, Sheila McDonald and Linnea McDonald.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Jananczek pastor of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday in the funeral home.
