Irene F. Pangborn Nash, 96, formerly of Quaint Rd., Falconer passed away Sunday (April 23, 2017) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
A lifelong area resident she was born June 21, 1920 in the Town of Ellington, the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Hugoboom Shearer.
Irene attended Ellington High School and prior to retirement was employed by the former Jamestown General Hospital retiring in 1975.
She was a member of the Zion Covenant Church and Sunnybrook Rebecca Lodge # 507 for 27 years. Irene enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening.
Surviving are three children: Doris Gray of Jamestown; Donald (Elaine) Pangborn of Jamestown, Chloe (Art) Vincent of Falconer; two step children: John W. (Charlene) Nash of Frewsburg, Mary (Dale) Graves of Florida; fifteen grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren and twenty-nine great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Harvey E. Pangborn whom she married April 8, 1939, who died May 9, 1966 and her second husband William H. Nash whom she married May 31, 1968, who died October 3, 1992; three brothers: Harold, Lester and Walter Shearer and a sister Verona Mosher.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Jay Baehr will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday in the funeral home.
