Obituary of Frank Hall
Frank A. Hall, 83, of Falconer, NY, passed away on May 09, 2017, at his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was born June 5, 1933, at Mrs. Hale's nursing home on Hickory Street, Falconer, NY. He was the son of the late Albert B. Hall and Ethel Martenson Hall.
Frank graduated from Falconer Central School, class of 1951, and joined the Navy during the Korean War serving on board the light cruiser USS Worcester CL-144. After being honorably discharged, he attended the University of Arizona, School of Engineering in Tucson, Arizona.
Before his retirement, he was employed as the business manager for the Falconer Central School District. Prior employment included being a police officer with the Village of Falconer, Field Sales Engineer for Carborundum covering the states of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and
Louisiana, and Superintendent of Manufacturing at Zirconium Corp. of American. He also enjoyed raising Black Angus beef on his 135 acre farm.
Frank was a life member of the VFW Post 53, American Legion Henry Mosher Post 638, War Vets Recreation, Vikings, Mount Moriah Lodge F&AM, Carroll Rod & Gun, Falconer Exempt Fireman, National Rifle Association & the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association.
The most cherished thing to him was his wife and family with whom he spent as much time as possible. He loved flying his airplane from his own airport on his farm in Ellington. He also loved playing the piano.
Surviving are his wife Jane Hall whom he married August 15, 1953, at the Naval Base in Charleston, SC, a daughter, Rebecca Carlsson (Gunnar) of Falconer, a son Matthew Hall (Dorothy) of Falconer, four grandchildren, Dr. Wayne Carlsson (Jon) of Lakewood, Tyler Hall of Laguna Hills, CA, Lauren Haring (Arthur) of Crofton, MD, Garrett Hall of Lakewood and a great grandson, Logan Haring.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard (Dick) Hall who was killed in a plane crash in Alaska and a sister, Mary Gilbert.
Friends will be received by the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Mt. Moriah Lodge of F&AM will conduct a memorial service at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to charity of choice.
