Obituary of Rose Erickson
Rose Elizabeth Peck Erickson, 92, of Willard St., Jamestown, joined her husband Robert in Heaven on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Heritage Park, Jamestown, NY.
She was born in Ripley, NY on June 29, 1924, the daughter of Alfred Henry and Blossom Rose Wellard Peck. She attended a one-room school through sixth grade, and then Sherman High School. She enjoyed keeping in touch with former classmates and teachers.
Rose and Robert were members of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and enjoyed listening to the radio broadcasts when they were unable to attend services in person.
Her kind heart and quick mind will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She loved word puzzles, and always had a jigsaw puzzle in progress. Her outstanding sewing talents led her to create cherished wall hangings, ornaments, and Afghans. She turned greeting cards into detailed, crocheted bookmarks, sending hundreds to fund-raising missions throughout the country and the world.
She loved gardening, and was especially fond of white flowers. Family gathering at her home were full of laughter, favorite foods, and stories of earlier days. For such a tiny lady, she certainly gave good strong hugs!
