David E. Eggleston, 80, of Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Sunday (August 13, 2017) in the Emergency Room of UPMC Chautauqua / WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident he was born May 28, 1937 in Jamestown, the son of the late Elden R. and Phyllis Harding Eggleston.
David was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was employed by MRC-SKF for 38 years retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the W&P – CST Model Train Club and Independent Model Railroads Club. David enjoyed spending time with his family and engineering his model train collection.
He is survived by his wife Maxine L. Penhollow Eggleston whom he married November 21, 1959 in Mayville, NY; two children: Cassandra (Robert E.) Lee of Kennedy, Michael Eggleston of Jamestown; a grandson Kyle Lee (Stephanie Bane) of Kennedy; three step grandchildren: Robert A. Lee (Heather Pratt), Janae (Clevon) Wofford, Stacy (Kenneth) Kephart; ten step great grandchildren and a sister Sue Liliestedt of Temple, GA.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew Christopher Liliestedt.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Penhollow will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
