Obituary of Darlene Mendrick
Darlene M. Mendrick, 69, of Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Saturday (September 2, 2017) in the Emergency Room of UPMC Chautauqua/ WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident she was born August 28, 1948 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Vincent V. and Mary Ann Frederes Beightol.
Darlene was a graduate of Falconer High School and SUNY Delhi. In earlier years she was employed by Don's T & C and was co-owner of Hometown Reality. She was currently employed by Chautauqua 4 Sale.
She was a member of Chautauqua County Board of Realtors, NYS Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. Darlene attended Levant Wesleyan Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering for various community organizations, attending craft shows and golfing at Breezewood Links Golf Course.
Surviving are her husband Michael J. Mendrick whom she married November 2, 1968 in Levant Wesleyan Church; four children: Jon (Shannon) Mendrick of Bothell, WA, Merilee Mendrick of Lynnwood, WA, Trevor Mendrick of Jamestown, Michele Mendrick of Kirkland, WA; three grandchildren: Oliver, Maggie and Meraki Mendrick; two brothers: James (Joyce) Beightol of Kennedy, Leon (Barb) Beightol of Falconer and a brother-in-law Max Starr of Jamestown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Linda K. Starr on August 30, 2007 and her step mother Margaret Beightol.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Al Myers of Levant Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
