Emegene L. Doverspike, 89, of Jamestown went to be with the Lord on Friday (June 25, 2021) in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born September 2, 1931 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of the late William C. and Anna L. Troutman Troup Sr. In earlier years she was employed by Fenton Park Nursing Home and Jamestown General Hospital. She was a former member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Emegene enjoyed her family, cooking, gardening, crafts, crocheting and making strawberry jam. She was strong in her faith and will be remembered as a devoted Christian. Surviving is her husband Jay Doverspike whom she married on November 28, 1953; four children: Cindy Dianne (Carl) Blood, Linda Jean Doverspike (Debra Loomis), Richard Jay Doverspike, Sharon Elaine Doverspike all of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Jason Vinton, Daniel (Sheila) Vinton, Melissa Jones, Melinda Larson, Crystal (Aaron) Peelman, Richard (Erica) Doverspike Jr. and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Misty Dillingham; a brother William C. Troup Jr. and a sister Elsie Ecker. The Doverspike family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park for the care Emegene received during her time spent there. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held following the visitation. Rev. Gerald Haglund and Rev. Mike Herdzik will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be donated to Heritage Group, 4600 Route 60, Gerry, NY 14740.
