Evelyn M. Kofod, 95, formerly of Sinclairville and the Methodist Gardens, Falconer passed away Tuesday (August 31, 2021) in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born April 17, 1926 in Richmond, VA, the daughter of the late James and Edna Davis Butler. Evelyn attended James Marshall High School in Richmond, VA. Prior to retirement, she along with her late husband Maurice Kofod operated a dairy farm in Sinclairville, NY. Evelyn was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life. She attended Falconer First Baptist Church and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving, caring mother who was dedicated to her family. Surviving are four sons: Kenneth J. (Janet) Kofod of Brockport, NY, Karl F. (Eileen) Kofod of Hamburg, NY, Kirk S. (Sue) Kofod of Amherst, NY, Craig A. (Becky) Kofod of Sinclairville, NY; a daughter Kristin A. (Bob) Asel of Jamestown, NY; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a very special niece and nephew Kay Near and Keith Kofod. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice F. Kofod who died December 16, 2008; a brother and 6 sisters. A private funeral service will be held Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Gordon Robbins pastor of Falconer First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated in Evelyn Kofod’s name to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
