Rosemary K. Ward, 90, of Frewsburg, died at 12:56 a.m. on Tuesday (August 1, 2017) in Warren Manor with her family by her side.
She was born September 29, 1926 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Ray and Catherine VanArsdale Kenyon.
In earlier years, Rosemary was a valued employee at Bigelow's Department Store in Jamestown. She was deemed a "Bigelow Girl" which indicated that she was an exceptional salesperson.
She married Wildrick "Bill" Ward on October 28, 1948 at the Fenton House in Frewsburg. Rosemary was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and refinishing and restoring antique furniture. Rosemary was the ROCK of our family. She always put her family before herself. She will be remembered as a sweet and thoughtful woman that was always there when we needed her.
Surviving are two grandchildren: Amy B.Brunecz Miceli and her husband Michael, Steven M. Ward and his wife Dina all of Frewsburg; two great grandchildren: Abigail and Matthew Ward of Frewsburg, a step great granddaughter Emma Garvin of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wildrick "Bill" Ward who died March 17, 1991; her son Steven K. Ward on April 2, 2005, her daughter Susan W. Brunecz on June 5, 2012 and a sister Doris Gustafson on April 17, 2002.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Cameron Lienhart will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Allen Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the memorial service Saturday in the funeral home.
