Surviving are two great nephews: Mathew (Christy) Johnson, Timothy (Anna) Johnson and his family by choice Phyllis Belin, Lee Belin and Dave Phelps.

He was preceded in death by his loving companion of 51 years Kay D. Swanson who passed away November 3, 2003; a brother Bennie Johnson and a sister Irene V. Ogren.
