Betty A. Traniello, 83, formerly of Campbell Ave., Jamestown, passed away Tuesday (April 2, 2019) in Bradford Manor, Bradford, PA.
A lifelong area resident she was born March 18, 1936 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Bert and Ruby Anderson Bernhard.
Betty was a graduate of Southwestern High School and was the first class to graduate from the new school in 1954. Prior to retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public Schools for 32 years retiring in 2000.
She was a past member of the Ingjald Lodge # 65, Independent Order Of Vikings and Jamestown Loyal Order of Moose Auxiliary.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, going to garage sales with her late son Todd, reading, and going to the casino, golfing and bingo. She also had served as a volunteer at Harvey Fenner Elementary School.
Surviving are her son Scott (Julie) Traniello of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Stephanie Parisi (Chris Adams), Erin Traniello (Kyle Engasser), Gina Traniello (Chris Martin), Jacquie Traniello (Kyle Dye), Nichole Traniello (Tyler Mata) and her daughter-in-law Jackie Traniello and her nephew Kirk Cranston.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Traniello whom she married June 9, 1956 in Jamestown, who died September 26, 2013; her son Todd M. Traniello on September 20, 2011; daughter-in-law Rosanne C. Traniello on January 17, 2003 and her sister Barbara Cranston on April 12, 2018.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
