Obituary of Ricky D. Colley
Ricky D. Colley, 70, of Celoron passed away Monday (April 29, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua. Prior to retirement he was employed by Transport America.
He was born November 25, 1948 in Olean, NY, the son of the late Robert D. and Elizabeth A. Kahm Colley.
Ricky was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and was employed by the trucking industry for 37 years. Prior to retirement in 2010 he was employed by Transport America.
He was a member of the Jamestown Loyal Order of Moose and served as the bus driver for the Lake Erie Regiment Drum Corp. He enjoyed reading and volunteering for the Celtic Festival.
Surviving are his wife Susan M. Sorensen Colley whom he married July 28, 1972 in Silver Creek; his son Kevin (Brooke) Colley of West Ellicott; his daughter Brandi Colley of Celoron; two grandchildren: Guinevere Colley and Freyja Knight; his brother-in-law Mark Sorensen (Kathy Hagner); his sister-in-law’s: Rita Poole (Albert), Judy Sorensen (Kris Miller) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Elizabeth Colley and his in-laws Walter and Loretta Sorensen.
Friends will be received by the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Dayle Keefer will officiate.
A reception will follow the memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron.
