Robert S. “Bob” Saxton, 76, of W.E. Jamestown passed away Thursday (May 2, 2019) at his home.
He was born November 17, 1942 in Jamestown, the son of the late Robert A. and Lorena Bogey Saxton.
Bob was a 1960 graduate of Falconer High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Schenectady Business College.
In earlier years he was employed by Danielson Oil Company, Upstate Milk, Jamestown Metal Products and was a tractor trailer truck driver. Prior to retirement he was employed Cummins Engine.
Bob was a member of the Masonic Temple, American Legion and Chautauqua Fishermen’s Club. He loved to fish, attend to yard work and visit with family and friends, especially Ralph “Rooster” Cusimano and J.D.
Surviving are his wife Roberta Chopan Saxton whom he married December 7, 1964; a son Chris (Tricia) Saxton of Jamestown; a granddaughter Leah Rose Saxton of Panama; four step grandsons: Justin Overbeck, Jakob Overbeck, Joshua Carlson and Seth Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert S. and Lorena L. Saxton.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in Levant Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
