Paralee Hardaway

Paralee Hardaway, fondly called “Mommy, Aunt Tam and G-Ma”, was born in Georgetown, South Carolina on February 9, 1940 to Morgan and Mattie Bell Anderson.  She passed peacefully at age 79 at Absolut Care of Westfield, New York on June 6, 2019.

 

She graduated from Rosemary High School, Andrews, SC in 1958.  Upon graduating from high school she moved to Rochester, NY, married Victorian Doucette, Jr. and raised four children.  For many years, she worked at Harris Corporation. In 1982, she married Michael Hardaway and upon retiring they moved to Holley, NY.  Paralee enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing meals with family and friends.  She was a master seamstress, making detailed wedding gowns for family, friends and many women in the community. She was an active and dedicated member of Jubilee Christian Church, Brockport, NY. She was a woman of great faith and a strong believer in the power of God.

 

Paralee is survived by her four children, daughter, Cheryl (Glenn) Dunlap – Austin, TX and three sons, Thomas (Cynthia) Doucette – Rochester, NY, Victorian (Geraldine) Doucette, III - Jamestown, NY and Christopher (Deborah) Doucette – Racine, WI.

Her siblings: Herbert (Dawn) Anderson – Sodus, NY, Ora V Croslin – Georgetown, SC, Levi (Irene) Anderson – Hoover, AL, Ernestine Harden - New York City, NY, Wendy (MacArthur) Davis - Pawleys Island, SC.

 

11 Grandchildren: Terrance, Alexandria, Thomas, Jr., Luticha, Ross, Laurence, Victorian IV, Brandt, Geralyn, Sara and Julia and 8 Great Grandchildren: Jakihas, Irie, Maya, Destinee, Layla, Lennox, Jalen, Elijah and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

 

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Hardaway, parents, Morgan and Mattie Bell Anderson and siblings, James Anderson, Ruth Anderson (Darby), Johnnie Anderson, Willie Anderson and Abraham Anderson.

 

She will be missed by many.  Rest in peace, Mommy.

 

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Jubilee Christian Church, 3565 Lake Rd N, Brockport, NY 14420.
