William B. Newark Jr., 64, of Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly and after a short illness, Saturday, June 29, 2019 in his home.
He was born January 3, 1955 in Bear Lake, PA, the son of the late William B. and Jean Seth Newark Sr.
Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1973-1975, being a Marine and serving his country was something he was extremely proud of. He was the owner and operator of Newark’s Auto Shop in Jamestown from 1983-1997. He was a gifted mechanic and always treated his customers with honesty and kindness.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a competitive Archer, winning numerous awards. He also loved to restore old cars, especially 1956 and 1957 Chevy models, and 1956 Fords.
William is survived by his wife, Dolores DeSano Newark, whom he married April 7, 1984 in Fluvanna Community Church; six children: Bobby Newark of Bear Lake PA, Tina Newark of Jamestown, Donna Wiltsie of Jamestown, Larry (Lori Elle) Williams of Falconer, Lynn (Dwayne) Tanner of Frewsburg and Tom (Tammy) Woodruff of Lakewood; a sister: Bonnie Clark of Bear Lake PA and a brother, Tim Newark of Sinclairville; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will not be observed. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be donated to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
