Obituary of Josephine M. Fonti

Josephine M. Fonti, 92, of Falconer passed away Tuesday, (July 9, 2019) in Lutheran Home.

 A lifelong area resident she was born April 3, 1927 in Salamanca, New York the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Wereski Milanowski.

Josephine attended Salamanca High School and was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, OLL Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was in charge of the bereavement committee and was a member of the Lady Bug’s Club. Josephine enjoyed bowling with the senior citizens club.

Surviving are two sons: Phillip J. (Sherry) Fonti of Falconer, Frank J. (Linda) Fonti Jr. of Gowanda, three grandchildren : Patrick Fonti of Seminole, FL, Andrea Fonti of St. Petersburg, FL, Kara Fonti of Gowanda; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Fonti Sr. whom she married July 26, 1947 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Salamanca, NY who died October 8, 2017; two infant children in Elizabeth and Michael Fonti;  three brothers: Walter, Edward, and Joseph Milanowski; four sisters: Katherine Conti, Stella Seelbach, Frances Hapak, Mary Spencer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Janaczek pastor of the church will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service at 5:30 Thursday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
