Obituary of Sharyn A. Lombardo
Sharyn A. Lombardo, 84, of Falconer passed away peacefully on Tuesday (July 30, 2019) in the hospital surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong area resident, Sharyn was born January 18, 1935 in Jamestown, daughter of the late Arnold C. and Gladys Probst Erickson.
Sharyn was a 1953 graduate of Jamestown High School and prior to retirement was employed by the Village Pharmacy in Falconer. Customers and friends appreciated Sharyn’s friendliness and caring nature. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. Sharyn was a loving mother to her five children and rarely missed any of their sporting or school event. She could also be seen or heard cheering on her grandchildren in later years. Additionally, Sharyn was devoted to her many friends and enjoyed meeting them for a cup of coffee, lunch and laughs. She loved being around people and they loved her company as well. When she wasn’t visiting with family or friends, she was busy enjoying her days with her favorite child, her dog; Bruno.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 64 years, Marion S. “Muddy” Lombardo, whom she married September 3, 1955 in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church; five children: Ann Marie (George) Erickson of Jamestown, Philip Lombardo of Falconer, Stephen (Kandis) Lombardo of Jamestown, Michelle (Mark) Saxton of Jamestown, Dr. Jeffrey (Joanne) Lombardo of Buffalo; ten grandchildren: Ashley (Doug) Switzer, Aaron Erickson, Adam Erickson, Britany (Nicholas) Emley, Jordan Saxton, Dr. Nicholas Lombardo, Matthew Lombardo, Joseph Lombardo, Lucas Lombardo, Emily Lombardo; five great grandchildren: Mason and Jaxson Switzer, Callie, Taylinn and Wade Emley; her brother Donald (Susan) Erickson of Lakewood; sister-in-law’s: Nancy (David) Kingsley of Falconer and Marilyn Lombardo of California, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Grace Lombardo; a brother, Robert (Deloris) Erickson; and brother-in-law, Leonard Lombardo.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Altar and Rosary Society of OLL will conduct a rosary service preceding at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Doug Kibbe of Church on The Rock will conduct a eulogy at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer. Rev. Joseph Jananczek, pastor of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
