Obituary of Luvinia P. Martin
Luvinia Pauline Martin, 82, who spent her last days on Earth surrounded by family, entered into enteral life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 8, 2019. Her love for and support of her family was unconditional and endless. She was the beloved wife of Dean Edward Martin for over 60 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was born May 19, 1937, in Youngsville, PA, daughter of the late Michael John Baran and Pauline Victoria (Staswoiski) Baran. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kim; brothers Edward, Michael, and Leon; sister, Verna and half-sister, Helen.
After her father’s death, she was extremely proud of her four-year involvement with the nuns at Gannondale Convent. She was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School, Harbor Creek, PA. She worked at Sylvania Light Bulb Factory in Warren, PA. She also worked for Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church as groundskeeper for Holy Cross Cemetery.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Christina Martin and Gary Tripp, Cynthia and Robert Learn, Dean and Carol Martin II, Cathleen Jewell, Christal Green and Glenn Wallace, Darren and Wendy Martin.
She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Jennifer Smith, Christine Perez, Curtis and Emily Smith, Dean Martin III, Daniel Martin, Amber Jewell, Alexis and Jake Way, Casey Green, Dominic Pail, Justin Martin, Nicholas Martin, Madilyn Martin, Chantel Learn, Bridgette Learn, Rusty Wallace, and Levi Wallace.
She is survived by her great grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Smith, Lauren Perez, Colin and Alexander Fuchs, Gavin Summey, Josephine Satterlee, and Caleb Estes.
Additionally, she is survived by her brothers Charles, Vince, and Anthony; sister Mary, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Free Methodist Church, 210 Jamestown St., Sugar Grove, PA. Rev. Billy Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Sugar Grove, PA.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday in the church.
