Joyce H. Schauman, 90, of Kennedy passed away Monday (November 11, 2019) in her home.
A lifelong area resident she was born November 1, 1929 in Ellington, the daughter of the late William and Mable Luce Freeman.
Joyce was a 1948 graduate of Falconer High School and in earlier years was employed by National Worsted Mills and American Manufacturing. For most of her life she was a dedicated homemaker.
She is survived by a son William G. (Dee) Schauman of Topeka, KS; three daughters: Shirley (Duane) Gjerdrum of Conewango Valley, Rose Collingwood of Little Valley, Gloria (Patrick) Sperry of Kennedy; seven grandchildren: William J. Schauman, E. Jay Schauman, Daniel Gjerdrum, Kimberly Zink, Amy Edel, Justin Sperry and Patrick Sperry; twelve great grandchildren; a brothers Ralph Freeman of Silver Springs, MD.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Schauman whom she married July 3, 1949 in Conewango Valley, who died September 8, 2006; a son-in-law Butch Collingwood; a grandson John Collingwood Sr.; a brother Richard Freeman; three sisters: Phyllis Moran, Catherine Ling, Agnes LeBaron.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington.
