Obituary of Marlene L. Donn Graham
Marlene L. Donn Graham, 83, of Falconer, and formerly of Ellington, passed away Tuesday (November 12, 2019) in her home, surrounded by family and friends. She was a dear and generous friend to many in her community.
She was born February 5, 1936 in North Hornell, NY, the daughter of the late Jesse C. and Genevieve Francis Edmond.
Marlene was a 1953 graduate of Cohocton High School and 1954 graduate of Rochester Business Institute. Prior to retirement she was employed by the Falconer Central School District as a secretary.
She served on many committees of the Falconer United Methodist Church, and previously the Ellington and Jamestown Congregational Churches. She was a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Falconer, a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and a Girl Scout leader. Marlene enjoyed her family, gardening, bird watching, collecting Precious Moments, dancing, music, knitting and traveling.
Surviving are her husband James T. Graham whom she married October 30, 1982 in Levant; three children: Karl (JoAnn) Donn of Durham, NC, Katherine (Simon) Yu of Clarence, NY, Thomas (Teresa) Donn of Greenwood, SC; four step children: Randall (Diana) Graham of Lakewood, Joel (Rhonda) Graham of Lakewood, Christine (Randy) Bryant of Westerville, OH, Suzanne Graham of Gahanna, OH; thirteen grandchildren: Christopher Donn, Michael Donn, Stephanie Baird, Katherine Stahlka, Nicholas Yu, Bethany Leitón, Mallory Donn, Christopher Graham, Adam Graham, Paul Graham, Sara Carlson, William Bryant, Sophia Bryant; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister Bonnalyn (George) Reynolds of Silver Creek, NY and a brother Richard (Sara) Edmond of Marcellus, NY .
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Rudolf Donn, in 1981, and two brothers: J. Robert and Lee K. Edmond.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer United Methodist Church, 201 N. Work St., Falconer, NY 14733. Rev. Heather Allport-Cohoon pastor of the church will officiate, assisted by Rev. Tim Phelps chaplain of Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care. Burial will be at a later date in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer United Methodist Church.
