Freda D. Phillips, 90, formerly of the High Rise in Jamestown and Falconer passed away Wednesday (June 24, 2020) in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born October 5, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of the late Carl and Genevieve Murtaugh Brookler.
Freda retired from Jamestown Plywood after 20 years. She, then was the night manager for the High-Rise Apartments in Jamestown for another 20 years.
Some of Freda’s fondest memories was a double wedding with her twin sister. Freda loved playing cards and going to the casino. She loved her family and animals, especially her cat Smokey.
Freda leaves behind one daughter Glenda Hartson (Jay McCord) of Steamburg, NY; three grandchildren: Carissa Hartson of Allegany, Alicia Hartson of Pennsylvania and Haley Hartson of Steamburg. Freda also has two great grandchildren Brielle and Brodie.
She will be remembered as a very thoughtful and giving person, and would do anything for someone.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters: Florence Brockman who was her twin sister, her sister Mary Bogard and a brother George Brookler.
As per Freda’s wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
