John Schauman, 91, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Clyde Ave., Falconer passed away Thursday (September 17, 2020) in Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Louisville, KY.
He was born October 2, 1928 in Taylor, Michigan, the son of the late John S. and Clara Lisky Schauman.
John attended Cassadaga Valley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving from 1946 to 1947, and U.S. Army serving from 1952 to 1954 in Germany. Prior to retirement he was employed by MRC-SKF retiring in 1988.
John was an avid sportsman, he loved hunting, water skiing, golf and building and flying model airplanes.
Surviving are his wife Roberta J. Weaver Schauman whom he married October 8, 1948 in Ellington; a son Dennis (Frances) Schauman of Louisville, KY; two granddaughters: Colleen Schauman, of Knoxville, TN and Ann Schauman of Louisville, KY; three brothers: Robert Schauman of Little Valley, NY, James Schauman of Jamestown and Donald Schauman of Bemus Point.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Eugene Schauman; a sister Maxine Schauman; two half-brothers: Walter Schauman, Bernerd Brockman and a half sister Gertrude Stefnon.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer, NY. A celebration of life memorial will be scheduled at a later date
