Obituary of Floyd E. Newbree Jr.

Floyd E. Newbree Jr.,88, of Jamestown passed away Monday (November 2, 2020) in UPMC/ Chautauqua/ WCA Hospital. He was born May 7, 1932 in Jamestown the son of the late Floyd E. Newbree Sr. Claribel Ball Newbree. Floyd attended Southwestern High School and in earlier years was employed with Bigelow Department Store. He loved woodworking and enjoyed Celoron Amusement Park. He was a volunteer firefighter in Celoron and was a member of the Celoron Moose. He is survived by his son Douglas Floyd Newbree of Erie, PA; 3 daughters: Cheryl Newbree Yankosky of Erie, PA, Beatrice (James) Mattix of Erie, PA, Debra (Donald) Mann of Erie, PA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren, a brother Robert Newbree Sr. Of Dunkirk, NY, a sister Nancy Whitmore of Florida, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two grandsons, one granddaughter, a brother Donald Newbree, two sisters: Alverna Mathews and Thelma Ohman, and son-in-law Tim Yankosky Sr. The family would like the thank all of the doctors and nurses in the Covid-19 unit for taking such good care of Floyd. Visitation will not be observed. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be donated to the Loyal Order of Moose 52 Dunham Ave. Celoron, NY 14740.
