Obituary of Maynard C. Carlson

Maynard C. Carlson, 82, of Jamestown passed away Sunday (December 13, 2020) in Westfield Memorial Hospital. A lifelong area resident he was born February 26, 1938 in Jamestown, the son of the late Carl J. and Neva Cowan Carlson. Maynard attended Cassadaga Valley High School and was employed by Dahlstrom Manufacturing for 33 years. Prior to retirement he was employed by Keywell Metals for 10 years. He served as union steward while working at Dahlstrom’s and was a member of the Jamestown Loyal Order of Moose and Celoron Loyal Order of Moose. Maynard enjoyed his family, motorcycles, snowmobiles, camping, auto racing, attending his son’s races and going to fairs. Surviving are his wife Jacqueline Badgley Carlson whom he married July 14, 1990; six children: Randy (Jan) Carlson, Cyndi (Daniel) Soule, Rick (Patti) Carlson, Cheryl L. Heath, Ron (Lillian) Carlson, Chad (Cindy) Carlson; 15 grandchildren: Kevin (Ally) Rhoades, Ashley (Samuel) Davis, Matt (Felicia) Soule, Ryan Carlson (Kelly Freidel), Erin Carlson (Matt Davis), Jason (Julieanna) Nagy, Joe Nagy, Jennifer Nagy, Josh Heath, Jimmy Berry, Tracy Dasilva, Angalina Marlett, Ernest Nelson, Rebecca Carlson, Kaylee Carlson; 21 great grandchildren; a brother William (Ivetta) Carlson of Ellington; a sister Nancy (Fred) Marcello of Sinclairville; a sister-in-law Betty Badgley; a brother-in-law Jeff (Sue) Badgley and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Amanda Grace Carlson, Christina Johnson and a brother-in-law Michael Badgley Jr. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Pascoe pastor of Park United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington. Friends will be received by the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Due to CDC and NYS COVID 19 regulations face masks will be required and social distancing observed for the funeral service and visitation.
