David B. Winans, 69, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly Saturday (January 23, 2021) in Buffalo Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
He was born June 26, 1951 in Jamestown the son of the late Leslie F. and Elizabeth L. McGee Winans.
David attended Southwestern High School and later Jamestown Community College. In earlier years he was employed at Jamestown Metal and owned and operated a computer business.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, watching sports especially the Buffalo Bills, NY Mets and NY Knicks. David loved taking vacations with his family to Myrtle Beach, and Cedar Point where he loved riding rollercoasters. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He also loved animals, especially his cat, Kitty.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly (David) Haaksma of Lakewood, NY; his son Ed (Stacy) Winans of Busti; six grandchildren: Brayden Haaksma, Chase, Haaksma, David Winans, Kristina Winans, Brandi Winans, Anna Lawson; two great grandchildren; two brothers: Donald (Kathy) Winans of Lander, PA, Stephen Winans of Buffalo, NY; a sister Diane Peterson of Celoron, NY; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Richard L. Winans.
A private visitation will be held at the convenience of the family.
A celebration of life will at a later date.
