Obituary of John Armstrong

John “Jack” Armstrong, 78, of Jamestown passed away unexpectedly Thursday (April 15, 2021) in UPMC Hamot, Erie PA. He was born August 3, 1942 in Salamanca, NY the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Hopkins Armstrong. John was a graduate of Salamanca High School and enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps serving from 1961-1966 including a tour in Vietnam. Prior to retirement he was employed at Anderson Screw Products in Jamestown. He enjoyed woodworking, was a Buffalo Bills Fan, and was a member of the NRA. He is survived by his two brothers: James (Deanna) Armstrong of Gowanda, NY; Ned (Carol) Armstrong of Little Valley, NY; sister-in-law Martha Armstrong of Falconer; several nieces and nephews and cousins. John will be missed and loved his dog, Charlie. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Myra L. Kilbourne Armstrong who passed away September 23, 2020, and his brother Larry Armstrong who passed away in 2018. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be donated to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
