Obituary of Margaret E. Benson

Margaret E Benson, 95, passed away Friday, (July 2, 2021), at Heritage Park. The caring staff took wonderful care of her. She was born on January 4, 1926, to Pearl and Claire Tracy of Jamestown, NY. She was the wife of Raymond R. Benson of Jamestown, NY. He was the love of her life for the 77 years that they were together. They lived in Jamestown, NY, for many years and moved to Warren, Pa, in 1965. They retired and moved to Nobleton, Florida where they spent their winters. During the summer months they lived at Bournes Beach on Lake Erie. Her husband built a cottage for them in the 1960’s. Their friends and family enjoyed many enjoyable moments there. Margaret was a kind and caring grandparent. She played games with them, sang to them and wrote silly stories and poems for them. She enjoyed playing cribbage, enjoyed her Bridge games and was an avid reader. She started each day with her crossword puzzles. Margaret is survived by her son Dr. Steven Benson and his wife Nancy. Also, her grandson Brenton Benson and his wife Keiko Kibune Benson of Yokohama, Japan; Kristin Whittington and her husband Dr John Whittington of Seattle, WA. and Devon Mahaney and her husband Maj. General John Mahaney of Abuja, Africa, her granddaughter Kristal Benson of Eagle River, Wis, Tammy Piazza of Jamestown, NY. Also surviving are her great grandchildren Kaito and Kohei Benson, Grace and William Whittington, and Vivian and Evelyn Mahaney. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Tracy and her son Scott. She was proceeded in death by her son Gary A Benson on June 14, 1989, and her brother Harold Tracy. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. We Love You More!
