Thomas Charles Wickham, 74, of Gerry, NY, passed away in Rochester General Hospital on Monday, August 16, 2021, with his family by his side. Tom courageously fought a 20-year battle with the long-term effects of Agent Orange exposure.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Wickham, and mother, Alice Howard. Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan (Alonge) Wickham, and his three children; Justin (Janelle) Wickham of North Tonawanda, NY, Amy (Jesse) Beers of Fredonia, NY, and Tyler (Kathryn) Wickham of Newcastle, OK. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Ethan and Alexa Wickham, Kazlin and Rylee Beers, and Jared and Allyson Wickham, and his siblings; brothers Daniel and Grant Wickham, and his sister Kathleen Trask, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Tom was an Army veteran having served in Vietnam as a linguist with the RRC Co. 330 in Pleiku from 1967-1971 and he retired in 2010 from a 37-year career as Sales Manager at Weber Knapp Co.
Tom was immensely proud of his family. In his past, Tom was a coach for his kids and a Little League umpire. In his retirement, he enjoyed time with family and attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events. He was a lover of good books, good humor, great food, the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Phillies, and fancy cars. To say he was a devoted husband would be an understatement. To say he was a tremendous father and grandfather wouldn’t do him justice. He will be very missed by his family and friends.
There will be a graveside service for family only on Saturday, August 21, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Buffalo VA Hospital, or the Batavia Veteran Home.
