Obituary of Dianne E. Kervin

Dianne E. Kervin, 67, of Falconer, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones after a long-fought battle with cancer. A lifelong area resident, she was born on August 11th, 1954, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late David and Dawn Carlson. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1972 and later obtained a degree from Jamestown Business College. Dianne was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She eventually began working for the county and retired from Chautauqua County Social Services Department. Her work meant so much to her, and she truly appreciated many of her coworkers, clients, and the journey she had there. Many of the interactions she had with her clients brought her fulfillment. Dianne was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Ingjald Lodge 65, Independent Order of the Vikings. Dianne’s warm smile, kind heart and love showed in her selfless devotion to her family and friends. She found happiness in the little things; she enjoyed tea parties with family, long lunches with friends, walks, trips, and photography. Her love of nature and the appreciation for beauty in the everyday was infectious. She loved people; she saw the good in others and was a natural conversationalist. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, John Kervin, and daughter Amanda (Michael) Laurin & Grandchildren: Drew, Nate and Cara Laurin, brother Dan (Barb) Carlson, Nephew David Carlson, and Niece Leanne (Will) & Elliot of Dripping Springs, TX. Her brother Doug (Dana) Carlson of Hernando, MS. Niece Sara (Hugh) & Max and Caitlin of Lakewood, NY, Nephew Matt (Annette) & Nina of Stockholm, Sweden. Niece Laura (Chip) & Jaycen, Justin and Jordy of Flowery Branch, GA. She is also survived by her best friend, Stefanie Mittlefehldt. She was predeceased in death by her parents and her stepson, Travis Kervin. Her family will honor her by finding happiness every day. “The days go by with so many little things that don’t seem to matter until they’re no longer there and suddenly, they’re all that ever mattered.” -Brian Andreas A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
