Obituary of Jeannine M. White

Jeannine M. White, 92, of Mayville, formerly of Jamestown passed away Sunday (September 26, 2021) at home. A lifelong area resident she was born December 30, 1928 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Edwin and Annie Wakefield Young. Jean attended Falconer High School and was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777, American Legion in Celoron. She enjoyed puzzles, collecting everything to do with elephants for which she proudly showed to everyone that entered her home, reading, dancing, music, attending Bluegrass Festivals and playing the organ. Jean also enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Florida, California, Hawaii, and Las Vegas with her friends. Surviving are four grandchildren: Charles (Karen) Heilman of Mayville, Kate (Mark) Pinto of Fredonia, Joyce (Colston) Pritchard of Cattaragus, Susan (Jeremiah) Johnson of Dewittville; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and her son-in-law Carl Heilman of Dewittville. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick R. White whom she married September 13, 1947, who died September 7, 1979; her daughter Georgia Heilman on March 28, 2018 and two brothers Donald Young in 2005 and Melvin Young in 2004. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Dewittville CMA Church, 5821 Meadows Rd., Dewittville, NY 14728. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials may be donated to a charity of one’s choice.
