Obituary of Lawrence F. Birath

Lawrence F. “Larry” Birath, 50, of Falconer, NY passed away unexpectedly Sunday (October 3, 2021) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident he was born January 26, 1971 in Jamestown, the son of David R. and Virginia M. Lunetta Birath. He was a graduate of Falconer High School and was currently employed by MTS Transport. Larry was a past member of the Falconer Fire and Fluvanna Fire Departments. He served as past Fire Chief of the Fluvanna Fire Department. Larry enjoyed listening and having conversations with people. He also enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles and was an avid Ohio State “Buckeye’s” Football fan. Surviving are his fiancé Amy Smith of Falconer, his son Connor Kaminski of Stow Ohio; three daughters: Melanie (Brandon) Repp of Stow, OH, Rachael Birath, Alexis Birath both of Falconer; a grandson Lucas Repp; his mother Virginia M. Birath; a brother David R. (Melissa) Birath Jr. of Jamestown; his mother-in-law Geraldine M. Smith, his brother-in-law Michael (Amber) Smith of Kennedy and two nephews: Trenton and Colton Smith. He was preceded in death by his father David R. Birath Sr.; and grandparents: Lawrence Birath, Ella Gustafson, and Frank and Josephine Lunetta. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be donated to your Fire Department of choice.
