Obituary of Rickey K. Walters, Sr.

Rickey K. Walters, Sr., 56, of Ellington passed away Friday (October 8, 2021) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA in the loving presence of his wife. He was born July 11, 1965 in Westfield, NY, the son of Michael C. and Marguerite Stephens Walters. Rickey attended Randolph High School and received his certification in autobody mechanics from Ellicottville BOCES. In earlier years Rickey had worked for: The Saw Barn, Bills Saw Shop, Randy’s Garage and most recently T & S Machine. Rickey was a “Jack of all Trades,” and helped anyone fix anything – from cars to houses to electronics… if it was broken he could fix it! He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his granddaughters, often taking those he loved out to eat, sparing no expense. He also liked working on cars, watching movies and TV shows, listening to music, hosting campfires, taking care of his animals, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. Rickey will be remembered for his brilliant blue eyes, his friendly, open smile, his infectious laugh and booming voice. He was very kind, and had his own unique sense of humor and colorful vocabulary. He was extremely giving to others and had a personality that would draw attention from everyone in a room. Surviving is his wife Sharon E. Green Walters whom he married July 2, 1988 in Kennedy; three children: Laura L. (Christopher) Fiorella of Gerry, Rickey K. (Krissy) Walters Jr. of Falconer, Mitchell O. Walters of Ellington; four grandchildren: Juliet, Eliza and Bianca Fiorella, Liliana Walters; his mother Marguerite Walters of Randolph; five brothers: Michael (Vanita) Walters of Randolph, Robert Walters (late Tammy) of Randolph, Todd (Sonia) Walters of Forestville, Rod (Belinda) Walters of Warren, PA, Jesse (Jessica) Crawford of Youngsville, PA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Michael C. Walters, a brother Butchie, and a nephew T.J. Walters. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A funeral service for Rickey will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Pastor Jennifer Delahoy pastor of Kennedy United Methodist Church will officiate. A private dinner for family will be hosted following the funeral service at The Old Tool Tavern in Randolph. Memorial contributions may be donated to UPMC Hamot Medical ICU, 201 State St., Erie, PA 16550.
