Obituary of Dr. Walter R. Morgan

Dr. Walter Raymond Morgan died October 21, 2021 from cardiac complications. He was born October 24, 1929 in Wilkes Barre, PA, son of Walter R and Hilda (nee Clark) Morgan. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Allen C Morgan. He leaves behind his beloved wife Frances (nee Costella) in Warren, PA, three children Carol in Warren, PA, Walter (spouse Julie) in Cicero, Indiana and Daniel (spouse Tiffany) in Cleveland, OH and four grandchildren Valerie (spouse Tyler Kies) in Flagstaff, AZ, Jesskah (spouse Josh Forrest) in Tucson, AZ, Katie in Cicero, IN, and Zachary (Fiancé Olivia) in Nashville, TN. He loved each one of his children and grandchildren. Following graduation from Manheim Township Highschool in Lancaster, PA and Franklin & Marshall College, also in Lancaster, he enlisted in Jefferson Medical college in Philadelphia and graduated in 1957. He interned at York Hospital in York, PA where he met his wife to-be whom he married in 1959. Dr Morgan went into general practice until 1963 at which time he moved to Erie, PA for urological residency training at Hamot Medical Center. Following graduating and obtaining Board Certification in Urology, he practiced medicine in Jamestown, NY on the staff of Jamestown General Hospital & WCA. In 1968, Dr Morgan went into solo practice in the Medical Art Building. He was a member of Jamestown Medical Society, American Board of Urology, American College of Surgery and American Urologic Society, Member of Gross Surgical Society (Gross Philadelphia Academy of Surgery), Psychiatric society, Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and Phi Alpha Sigma Fraternity. In his years in Jamestown, the family lived on Maple Crest Ave in Lakewood and on Orchard Rd in West Ellicott where he formed lifelong friends with patients and neighbors. He practiced Urology until the time he retired in 1991. In retirement, he enjoyed hiking, hunting, canoeing, fishing, exercising and travel. As a member of NRA for many years, he enjoyed target shooting. And as a member of the YMCA, he enjoyed exercising, including weightlifting. He and his family attended St Luke’s Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service for Dr. Walter Morgan will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jamestown, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
